Rhino5 is out now!
After its long development period finally Rhino 5 is out! You can download the evaluation version and can order the final release.
To download the evaluation version:
"This fully functional version is the same as the commercial version except that it only saves 25 times. After that it is still fully functional except it will not save. It will still work great to learn Rhino and as a viewer for Rhino and many other file formats."
http://download.rhino3d.com/rhino/5.0/evaluation/download/
To order your copy follow the instructions here:
http://www.rhino3d.com/sales.htm
As we have been testing the beta releases for a long time, hopefully a service release will be released in a few months as v5 still has many features to be fixed to work better.

Announcement About "Rhino Themes for Rhino5"
I'm sorry for the early release of a not fully tested toolbar here. Many users had problems with the themes. Fully working version will be available in a couple of weeks.
Thank you for understanding.

ViewCaptureOptions V2 for Rhino4 & Rhino5
Now Rhino4 users can easily capture their viewport at any common size easily! R5 version has no change since last release here, and R4 version is the exact copy of it. The reason of the delay is my business for personal works and the unconvertible system of toolbars between R4 and R5. Anyway, it is here now ;)

Preventing Unwanted Toolbars From Opening
Many of Rhino users use also other 3rd party plug-ins to get more from Rhino. Those plug-ins including "V-Ray for Rhino" and "Bongo" have their own toolbars for a better user interface. But we don't use them always and they don't care if we use them or not and they stay on our screen. You close the toolbar, do your work and close Rhino. On next launch, they say "hi" again and you close them again... Changing the toolbar's name or relocating its file does not work. Here is a friendly solution:

New Rhino Interface Concept
Rhino 5 users know it has many interface improvements according to the previous version. Tabbed interface and sidebars were the most important ones so far.
The custom workspace mode I prepared for Rhino 4 is here. If you get the idea, you will see how I got close to Rhino 5's tabbed toolbars while there were no betas around. (WIP was being developped but I was not using it those days.)
Now I'm working on a new interface which is based on pop-up toolbars. This interface prevents toolbars to take space while modelling on viewports and maximize the workspace. Here are the mock-up toolbar images:

An Example For "BooleanUnion Seamless" Operation
Thank you who have downloaded my "BooleanUnionSeamless" button! Here is the clear explanation of the button who hasn't explore it yet.
Working on solid objects needs care in order to obtain good surfaces. When using default BooleanUnion command, you get solids connected but their surfaces are still separate. This causes fillets or other similar operations fail as the edges/surfaces are not continuous.
The screenshot below explains the problem clearly. Two separate and closed boxes are used for union:

Slot From Curve/Line
Solidworks users are familar with the Slot tool. A slot is in fact a rounded rectangle whose corner radius is half of its edge.
When you need this shape in Rhino, you either draw a rectangle, two circles and trim unnecessary parts or draw two lines and two arcs.
Here is the third method:

Keeping Rhino Synced Between Computers
I have Rhino installed in two PC's, one at home and one at office. It is really confusing when I try to use Rhino both at home and at office because as you know I love to configure my workspace frequently. Also I save my favorite and most used V-Ray materials and options separately.
Since McNeel/Rhino does not have a 'user profile+cloud' membership, we can't "log-in" to Rhino after we install it on a new computer and it comes with the default settings, toolbars etc.
Here is the best solution the industry has ever developed: Dropbox!

Maximize Workspace & Window Bars Toolbar
UPDATE: Click here to see the updated version!
----------------------------------------------------------
Most users need bigger displays in order to reduce zooming procedures while using Rhino. However, even the biggest size of a screen may not seem enough for you sometimes and you find yourself double-clicking on a maximized viewport title to re-maximize it.
Then what about hiding some bars and concentrate on just modeling? Look at those two modes and see the difference:

Rhino4 Custom Workspace Mode
Here is my old Rhino4 workspace (toolbar collection file) for you. This toolbar layout reduced my modelling time to half! It allows both a maximized workspace and a quickly accessible toolbar for different operations.
Note that I do not use Rhino4 anymore and do not develop this workspace. A better version for Rhino5 will come up in a couple of weeks ;)
You can see those features at the screenshots below:
